a Space for Hope in New York City

  • Opera America - Marc A. Scorca Hall 330 7th Avenue 7th floor New York, NY 10001 United States (map)

Kate Tombaugh & Alan Johnson, pianist, bring their concert, “a Space for Hope” to New York’s City Opera America center, Marc A. Scorca Hall. Tickets are ($20) or pay what you wish, general admission.

Please join us: Kate Tombaugh, mezzo-soprano, and Alan Johnson, pianist, will be giving a song recital on Thursday, May 2 in NYC, following a recital tour we just gave in Illinois. Our previous collaboration took place at the Virginia Arts Festival in the orchestral stage premiere of Companionship, an opera by Rachel J. Peters which Kate had previously premiered at Fort Worth Opera in a virtuosic leading-role performance, with Alan leading as conductor. We’re very excited to perform five songs by Rachel J. Peters on this program.

When: Thursday, May 2, 7:30 pm

Where: Scorca Hall, Opera America, 330 7th Ave, between 28th and 29th St.

Admission: $20 or pay what you wish

Program:

Music by Florence Price, Kurt Weill, Ellen Ruth Harrison, Rachel J. Peters, Gary Schocker, Anna K. Jacobs, Mark Blitzstein, Daniel Messe and Ricky Ian Gordon.
